The Strum Shop is a family owned full line acoustic musical instrument store specializing in ukuleles, guitars, banjos, mandolins, violins and dulcimers. We also carry a variety of other curious instruments that you should visit the store to see for yourself.
The Strum Shop was opened by Stu Herreid and Dan Elliott in May of 2012. One of the motivating factors for opening the store was the need for support of the rapidly growing community of ukulele players in the greater Sacramento area.
The Strum Shop is known for it’s many events held throughout the month, such as: workshops, classes, concerts and seminars. We’re also home to a variety of music clubs and gatherings, such as: Uke University, River City Ukulele Orchestra, Songwriters Circle, Acoustic Guitar Club, Irish Slow Circle, Bluegrass Jam, Banjo Ukulele Club, Baritone Ukulele Club, River City Dulcimers and more!
The Strum Shop has a full time teaching staff that offers private lessons every day of the week and group lessons on various days throughout the week. We also have a full time in-house repair technician and have partnered with several outside luthiers for more extensive repairs.
We are a hands-on shop and encourage you to grab an instrument off the wall and play. See you soon!
